These resources apply to boards who oversee public entities as defined in section 5 of the Public Administration Act 2004.

They also apply in part to advisory boards, which must meet integrity obligations for the public sector.

In addition to the general advice in these resources, familiarise your board with the:

• requirements in the laws or document that established your entity
• any other government policies that apply to your entity.
